Our premium lucerne hay is properly cured, baled, and stored to ensure a consistently high leaf to stem ratio and optimal moisture.
Our lucerne fields are well managed to ensure bales have minimal contamination from weeds, mould and dust. We inspect and grade every cut of hay.
Production Overview
Our research and experience tells us that top quality, small square lucerne bales are the most manageable bale size for everyday feeding by equine and specialty livestock owners . However, we also know that manual handling has always been an issue for both producer and customer.
This is why we introduced the Marcrest Bale Baron to our fleet. The Bale Baron eliminates manual labour, making it more efficient and safer to handle and load packs of small square bales onto trucks and trailers. Most importantly for our customers, the packs can be loaded and unloaded by using a forklift or tractor with forks.
The Bale Baron accumulates and packs small square bales into bundles of 21, secured with twine. The packs can be handled multiple times in and out of storage whilst retaining their original shape.
